Age for subclass 189 applicants now 45

Another change that has recently been announced was the reduction in age for the primary applicant for a Skilled Independent subclass 189 visa. The change is effective 1 July 2017 Applicants will need to be under 45 years of age when the invitation to apply for the visa is issued by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. The 45 age limit will not apply to those New Zealand citizens applying under the Subclass 189 New Zealand citizens stream which is also falls under the subclass 189 visa regulations.
